Mills with his two sons nnd his sistor-in-lnw, Miss Howe, were coming doivu the river in a punt londed with rails when it capsized opposite Brandon's, and all wero thrown Into the water. The father tried to savo the boys but all three sank and wero soon no more. Miss Howe was rescued by n passing boat In nu unconscious stnte. Dr. Spencer nttondod lor nud she is progressing satisfactorily. None of the bodies have yet been recovered. At the field trial of harvesters to-day tho Jeering wns first nnd the Hornsby second, There wero five competitors.

STANLEY. January 20. The ketch Tasman, belonging to Mr. J. S Lee. of Duck River, foundered on Friday night, near Sandy Cape. All hands were saved, as the sea was smooth at the time. This is the second vessel Mr. Lee has lost in six months, the Windward having been wrecked on Hebe Reef in June last.
