TO THE EDITOR. [Newspaper Article] — Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 11 December 1903

To the Ee-itok. Sir. — The report of the last meeting 01J the Caboolture Shire Council was not) altogether pleasant reading for a goodh number of its ratepayers, especially that part of it stating the Chairman's inten tion of issuing summonses to recovci rates. The writer knows of a number ol cases where the valuation notice as wel as the rate notice was received after th( date on which the appeal court was held in some of these cases- the valuations ha( been raised to five times their formei values. The most annoying part of tin affair is that some of these lands are stil Crown lands, and their owners have beet unfairly debarred from having thei grievances heard and are now threatenec with the law for recovery of amount, rated. This grievance is strengthened b) a letter which appeared in the ' Moretot Mail,' of July 24th, where a correspoudeu complains that an appellant found tli- Court House closed at twenty minute past ten, and, with others, had to leavt for home, and await a cha...

It is I very funny that for so many years S.W.B. | and his ' litx-ral paper' have been run- j ning the party that has almost ruined this State.
