HELENSBURGH At the Police Court on Monday, Joseph Gambetta was charged with assaulting George Perran, at Heath cote, on the sixteenth instant, and robbing him of . thirty pounds. Sergt Tomkins, who arrested accused at Stanwell Park, prosecuted. Mr. iH3ci- ? die and Mr. Gannon appeared for accused. Perran 's evidence was to the effect that he was proceeding to his home from the Heathcote sta tion in company with accused, when his arms .were twisted, and his purse, containing the money, taken from fifs inside coat pocket; was positive ' accused was the man who robbed Iiim, as he had known him twenty years. After other witnesses were examined, accused reserved his 'de fence, and was committed for trial at Wollongong Sessions. Bail all owed, '£120, and two sureties of a like amount. Bail was forthcoming. A sad fatality occurred on Tues day on the main-road; between the | town and the railway station. Nor man Fraser, aged seventeen, was driving a loaded cart belonging to Mr. J. C. Smith,...
