NOTICE TO MARINERS. FLOATING LIGHTS IN THE PRINCES CHANNEL. Trinity House, London, 22nd August, 1848. Notice is hereby given, that in compli- ance with the request of numerous owners and masters of vessels, and other persons using or interested in the navigation be- tween the North Foreland and the Nore, two floating light vessels are about to be placed in the Prince's Channel, the lights on board of which will be first exhibited on the evening of Sunday, the 1st day of October next, and thenceforth continued every night from sun-set to run-rise. Mariners are to observe, that one of these vessels will be moored in the eastern part of the said Channel near to the East Tongue Land, and will exhibit two lights, one at the mast-head which will be white, and one at a lower elevation which will be colored red. CITY OF MELBOURNE.   ANNUAL LICENSING MEETING.   NOTICE is hereby given, that the Annual Licensing Meeting of the Justices of the Petty Sessions acting in and for the City of Melbourne, in the District of Port Phillip, will be holden at the Police-office, Melbourne, on Tues- day, the 17th day of April next, (being the third Tuesday in the said month of April), for the special purpose of taking into consideration all applications for licenses under the Act of the Governor and Council 2 Vic, No. 18.
