Ireland' A POETICAL PRISONER. iHJt Kilkenny Moderator reports tliatnt the Nenagh Petty Sessions nu ex-draper's assistant, named Jolin Mahcr, formerly of Ros.sc ren, lately of Nenagh, and latest of Ratlidowney, was brought up charged with liaring stole a silk umbrella from the- house of Dr. Morton. The principal evidence for the prose cution was that of Nanny Ralph, a servant in the employment of Dr. Morton, who deposed that on the day in question the prisoner called. She went to acquaint the mistress of the presence of the man. On her return to the hall she missed from the stand the silk umbrella now produced. The quarrel which led to this fatal encounter arose out of dissentions in the Bonapartist's camp, the Petit Corporal being nn organ of the section which claims l'rinco Victor as its chief while M. de Massns, in the Combat, sus tained the cause of Prince NajwJeon. After the Honapartist meeting held on August IB, the con troverey between the two journals degenerated into a veritable paper war, the Combat being particularly distinguished 1»y tho'exceasivo violence of itsiarticles. The duel between the two principals was averted by the efforts of mutual friends, but still the quarrel went on, and a duel bccamc inevitable. A meeting of the Penrith Municipal Council was held at the Council Chambers on Thursday night when there were present-The Mayor ("in the   'chair) Aldermen Cross, Besley, T. Smith, C. Evans, and John Price MINUTES.     The minutes of the last meeting were read and   confirmed'.   REPORTS.     The Works Committee, reported that theyrecom   mended payment of the 'following accounts:- Arm- strong, £7 16s ; Morgan £1; Brown horse and cart £2.7s 6d.
