4 Campus Defense Units Merge With Town Groups Overlapping Duties Will Be Eliminated COLLEGE HISTORIAN — Dr. Waylahd' P.: Dunaway, professor of American history, has recently been-appointed. College historian by- the Board of Trustees. The set-up of the College Division of the State College Council of Defense was streamlined, and activity for an "all-out" civilian defense program was intensified yesterday when the executive committee of student, faculty, atnd administrative leaders met for the first time since the Unified States' entry into the war. In order to "eliminate inefficient overlapping. of functions and to insure smoother cooperation between the campus and borough groups, four subcommittees of the College council were merged with the corresponding borough organizations.
