Crawford, with his command surprised the hostiles' camp about fifty miles southwest of 2facori, Sonora, Mexico. The entire camp outfit with all of the hostiles1 stock was captured. A run ning fight continued for about two hours. During the samo day scouts brought in news that a hostile squaw desired to have a talk with Capt. Craw ford. Her request was granted and the nest day was appointed to have the talk with the hostiles. relative to a surrender. It is believed had the interview taken place, the hostiles would have surrendered. The fol lowing morning, 'January 11th, Capt. bravvford's camp was alarmed by cries from his scouts. ' Lieut. Maus, Lieut.
