Gen. Lane's Black Brigade. Rer. E. D. Fisher, a Chaplain jn, Gen. Lass's Kanqas Brigade, who commanded the black squadron of 220 refugees on the retreat trom Springfield, and who brought them all safely into Kstwsh, writes: "When wa had crossed the Kansas line, we drew up onr cavalry opposite the line of our train, .and announced that we were in Finnan' that these men. women and children wxsx mi! and such cheering yon aerer heard. "Three times three" were given for Kansas and for Jim Lane, the liberator. On the morning of the 13th we began the arduous task of finding hou ses for the 220 refugees. The Yankee Soldier. The Springfield, Mo., correspondent of the N. Y. Times gives the following inler estingsketcb of one of Che men who hvre " become famous as guides and wonts in the Western Army: . Another gentleman who has obtained considerable prominence as a scout and soldier, is Maj. Clark Wright, who cqm msnds a'sqaadron of the same character as himself. Maj. Wright moved from Ohio to Polk County, Missouri in 1858, and buying a large amount of prairie commenc ed the business of stock raising.
