THE SCOTTISH MALLEABLE IRON WORKERS. {From the Glasgow Sentinel.) We learn from a reliable source that the Scottish ironworkers are now in commotion to meet the threatened reduction of their wages, regarding which the masters have in timated their intention to give notice this day. At a meeting of delegates on the 18th. inst., after fully discussing the subject, it was re solved that, if the masters give notice for a reduction, the men will at the same time give the masters notice for an advance^ so as to be equal to the wages paid to the English , work men, for they cannot see why Scotch iron workers should be paid less for their labour than their English brethren, when the Scottish , masters get as good prices for their iron as : the English masters, and in every oth<ir • respect have equal, and in some instances ; superior advantages as to materials, carriage, • &c.
