LIMESTONE NOTES. (Cooktown Courier.) [Newspaper Article] — The North Queensland Register — 20 July 1892

LIMESTONE NOTES. (jCooktowa Courier.) The Anglo-Saxon, P.O. Mr ET. Cross, manager, keeps hii charge in going order ; Obsgr wilt cleanup at the end of this month when it is supposed the yield of gold will be much larger than it has been for some time past. I believe they will start sinking the main shaft an additional 100ft in about siK weeks; there still remains abundance of water ier crushing purposes, and if the crush, ings only ejgaB up to expectations, tilings will again hum In Limestone. The No 1 West anglo Saxon, Mr W. Johnstone, manager, has been fortunate enough to bare struck what appears to .be ftir goldin ibe bottom level 300ft, the deepest ground on the Palmer where payable gold has been found, if this find of gold continues in the No 1 West, it ahpuld, and I am sure will give an impetus to mining on this field; good gold is beuig g>t in the 90ft level uid on theiop alBO. Mr Johnstone though unfortunately not *' Galloway Percy John Stone," has every reason to feel ple...
