REGISTER OF STUD MERINO FLOCKS [Newspaper Article] — Country Life Stock and Station Journal — 28 March 1924

REGISTER OF STUD MERINO FLOCKS We have received the second volume of the 'Register of Stud Merino Flocks of Australia.' This work is compiled by the N.S.W. Sheepbreeders' Association, in coopera tion with the South Australian Stud Merino Sheepbreeders' Association, and the West Australian Stud Merino Sheepbreeders' Association, and is pub lished by the N.S.W. Sheepbreeders' Association, of which Mr. Jas. G. MacKee, F.C.P.A., is secretary, with his office in the National 'Mutual Chambers, Pitt and Bond streets, Syd ney. The work of compiling the Register in the first instance was one that took a great deal of careful handling, as there was no little opposition to con tend with. Mr. F. B. S. Falkiner was very keen on it, and a lot of valuable propaganda work was put into it by Mr. James Kidd, of the A.M.L. and F. Co., Ltd. Mr. Kidd recog nised the value olf such a register, and did much to bring it about. The 'Register' has come to stay, and it has proved of great value to breeders an...

"Save Us From Our Friends" [Newspaper Article] — Country Life Stock and Station Journal — 28 March 1924

'Save Us From Our Friends' 4 P OR every Manne there lurketh liys Wild Beaste.' So wrote an X outstanding figure of the 16th century. If you are looking dis passionately at party politics, you feel that the statement is true! Party politics often seem to bring out tlie worst that is in people. The Wild Beaste that is in Manne then gets free play. The Beaste is un chained. O ? ? 2 ? . . . , , t ~ . ' ouiiiu parties are worse man otners, or course. And tlie party you happen to belong to always seems the best of the bunch — or you wouldn't belong to it, would you? Then again, there are good men in every Party. But in every Party there are extremists. Often ' these extremists mean well, but they make party politics very difficult, and sometimes disgusting. Also there are supporters who make themselves the official or unofficial spokesmen for the various Parties. And it does happen now and then that some of these spokesmen are worse, or more extreme, than the politicians. To many of us it...
