Cheerfal Winter Fires. [Newspaper Article] — Malvern Standard — 22 June 1907

I f Cheerfal Winter Fires. í Now that the damp winter season i is once more upon us, the question ' as to the most suitable means of warming up dwelling houses, offices, business places, ¿c., naturally claims attention. The ease with which a gas fire can be lighted, regulated, put out, besides other oonspicious features, such as not requiting attention whilst burning ana absence of danger from sparks, are strong recommendations in favor of this very convenient appliance. By being quite smokeless, too, delicate furnishings in drawing rooms, bedrooms, and the like, escape discoloration. The labor saved in carrying fuel and removing ashes has no doubt also had something to do in making gas fires so popular with housewives and maids. According to the advertisement of the Metropolitan Gas Company, the gas consumption is exceedingly small, and ranges from one half penny per hour. The announcement is made that gas fires, of latest designs, are now obtainable either for cash or on hire purc...
