Payable Gold Found. - Excitement ran ' high among the mining people of Grenfell ;on Saturday night. It was re ported that payable gold had been found by Levett and p#rty at Tin pot, and oil investigation the report was found -to be correct. The Wool Clip. The State I'reasure'r, Mr. Waddell, - asked the Railway Commissioners for a report'con cerning the amount of wool carried for the Jive months ended November 30 as com pared with last year. Mr. Waddell had expected a large decrease, and was surprised to learn that the weight cii'rried in eacli'' case was about the same, and the revenue de rived about £127,000 for each period.. That sa5#ed, added Mr.' Waddell, that though the State had lost many sheep dur ing the year, yet".the deficiency had been -made tip by the •greater number of lambs and ■the increased fleeces. The Treasurer regards thein forma tion supplied by the commis sioners as highly gratifying.
