Mr ,\i. Ilall, honorary secretary to the committee, read the minutes of the last meeting, which were confirmed The secretary then read a letter from Mr Thomas Mooney. excusing his ab sence from the meeting. The follow ing passage is extracted . " Agreeing with the resolution passed on Monday, that all settlers on land should be held equal in the eyes of the legislature, I beg to propose that we adhere to that resolution ; and that farms of at least 100 acres, and not to exceed G-10 ncres, be granted to any in dividual at sixpence per annum for every ten acres (the squatters' rate) or five shillings per acre for ever ; and in the latter case, a twelve months' credit to be given.
