Our readers are already aware that Judge Faine, of the Superior Court of the city o New York, has dccided that the eight slaves, belonging to the wife of Jonathan Lemmon, of this State, are free under the laws of the State. Lemmon was on hU way to Texas with these slaves, with the intention of settling there, and took them on board the steamer City of Rich mond, for the purpose of transportation. 1 hat vessel, touching at New \ ork, a writ of habeas for put was Taken out, and the decision was as we have said.
