They were, therefore, called tho Carrier-Pigeons. Before this they had been classed with the toctt pigeons, so called, because it was supposed that from tl.cm, as the stook or stem, all other pigeons had come. Tho Carrier is larger than other pig eons, being from fourteen to seventeen inches from the tip of the benk to the end of the tail. The wings are long and broad, admirably suited for flight.' Blair of the Sixth dis trict of St. Louis. Now, that tho amend me tits repealing tho tost oath have been ratified, the registration law remains only tea ugly stump in the political field occasioning trouble and rendering no bencut. If nobody is to bo disfranchised (a glorious thought 1) thero is no ueo keep ing a list of voters, when to do so will incur an expenditure of tho public trcas nro mat mar as well be avoided.
