LOCAL NEWS. S'HcKlKG-ur.—On Wednesday last, the 23nd inefc., ilr. Witton's stores at Candalo was stuck-up by two armed men, with bltakeiied fares. As fa? as we can learn the particulars are aa follows : —Mrs. Kcucyon (bister to Mr. Witter) who manages the'store at. Can dalo, and a servant girl were the only inmates of the house: they retired to bed at half-past fen or eleven o'clock on Wednesday night Inst. They had been in bed about an hour when the girl was aroused by a noise at the door, she got up and aroused Mrs: Keneyori and went into the store, just in time to see the door burst open, and two men appeared with blackened faces, one of thein came into the store, demanding money, while the oilier kept watch.
