We have just received the following letter, written by John Wilkie Booth, and placed by nim in llic hands of his brotlier-in-iaw, J. S. Clarke. It was written by him in November last, and left with J. S. Clarke in a sealed envelope, and addressed to himself in his own hand-writ ing. In the same envelope were some United States bondB and oil stockB. This letter was opened by Mr. Clarke, for the first time, on Monday last, and imme diately banded by him to Marshall Millwavd, who has kindly placed it in our hands. Spang'er, the stage carpenter of Ford's Theatre, will most probably suffer the extreme penalty of the law. ! " 2. GARDENERS CALENDAR FOR AUGUST This and tlie next are the two most active months of the year as regards seedtime. Full sowings of peas, broad beans, onions, cairots, beet, parsnips, round seeded spi nach, cabbage, cauliflower, poUitoes, giound or Jerusalem artichokes, leeks, salads, kc., should be attended to. The grafting of fruit trees will need prompt attention. Disbud and train pot plants, such as fnschias, geraniums, and rouas. Sow hardy annuals in prepared patches; and more tender kinds in pots and pans for subsequent trans planting. Plant out lapers and rooted cuttings of such bedding plants as petunias, pinks, pansies, double wall flower, &c.
