Wedding. NORTH Crookwell was the scene of a   very pretty wedding on Wednesday afternoon, when Mr. T. Stevens was married to Miss E. Butt, fourth daughter of Mr. G. Butt. The Rev. J. Walker was the officiating minister. The bride was dressed in grey poplin, trimmed with cream silk, and wore a   white chiffon toque. The bridesmaid   was Miss Jvlia Butt (sister of the   bride), who was dressed in cream cashmere, and wore a gold brooch,   the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. W. Churchill was best man. The wed- ding breakfast was served at the re- sidence of the bride's parents, there being a large attendance of friends   and relatives. The wedding presents were numerous and costly.

Obituary. It is our painful duty to record the   death of Mr. W. Smith, of this town, which sad event took place in the Goulburn Hospital on Monday. De- ceased was 70 years of age, and a   native of England. He was the father of Mrs. O. S. Fowler, and Mr. W. Smith, of this town. We under- stand he was only ailing a few weeks, and called in the services of Dr. Fitz- Patrick, who entertained no hope of his recovery, and ordered his removal to the GouIburn Hospital. The cause of death was Bright's disease. The     late Mr. Smith was a very old resi- dent of the district. The remains were interred in the Church of Eng-   land cemetery at Goulburn on Wed- nesday.

■ Eight-Horn' Excursion. •A- largo number of people availed themselves of the opportunity afforded thein by the Railway Commissioners of witnessing- the- Eight-hour Day Sportsat Goulbarri yesterday. The excursion train which left here yester day morning took '191 passengers from Crook well, 39 from McAlister, and 15 from Roslyn.
