How long will our Pixia Land last! In another column we have given a compilation of the amount of pine tim ber yet remaining uncut in the United States as of the Rocky mountains. These figures are carefully compiled from estimates made by experienced lumbermen in various sections of all the States named, and may be relied upon as a pretty fair estimate of our Pine Timber. Now let us estimate how long this amount will last. Chicago market finds an outlet for I, 000,000,000 feet annually of lumber, 2,000,000,000 in lumber and logs find their way down the Mississippi river and its tribuflmes and another 1,000,- 00,0000 feet go to the lower lake parts, of Detroit, Toledo, Cleveland, and Buffalo, 500,000,000 are sold at the smaller lake ports in 111., Ind, Mich., and Wisconsin, and 500,000,000 go to eastern cities for a market, this foots up in round numbers 5,006,0000,000 this would take just 21 years to supply these markets with lumber alone. But this is not all, at least 1,000,000,000...
