AGRICULTURAL. PEOM'ING UPHtUIT TREES, a tree loaded with fruit, to Prevent the branches from breaking down Any IrancL or tree which requires propping, La3 more fruit than it ought to carry, eith er for the good of the tree or the good of the fruit. The first thing to do 13 to remove - immediately all the smaller poor or knotty e pecimcna. If this is done before growth has ceased, and sometimes after ripening has commenced, the improvement of the remain inr nortinn will more than compensate for tho reduction in number. This is the plan we follow and hare recom mended it to others every year in season, The folly of supposing that more fruit can be obtained by allowing all to cemain on the tree, causes it to be small and po...

AGRICULTURAL. SHELTER FOK SHEEP. For several years past, I have noticed in the columns of tt3 Telegraph various com munications on tie fcenet of proper stelter for farm stock, and although I agree with their authors in the main, yet there are cases la which too much thclter may be given to some kinds of farm Block. " I well remember the maxim of "one-third more Ehelter one-third less feed," tut we must'not lose sight of the idea that economy of food is not all we are to look at in the care ef our domestic animals. As far a3 my experience and observation go, I have found sheep to be a class of farm stock which during the winter may have too much ehelter for their own benefit or the real benefit of t,J3 owner. . With them shelter eeems to produce a different effect on cattle or other farm stock. Cattle when sheltered will consume about the same amount of food a3 when not shel tered,' but it is evident that as it takes less to keep up thewarmth of the system a lar ger amount is devoted...
