Proceedings of the Convention. Saturday, Sept. 8, 1849. ( Continued from last week.) Mr. Botts moved to strike out the word "member" and insert that of "inhabitant." Mr. Ord moved lo amend the amendment, as follows . 3. No inhabitant of this state shall be deprived of his rights or privileges, unless by the law of the land or the judgment of his peers. The amendment to the amendment was rejected. The question on the amendment was then taken, and it was lost; whereupon, tha question recurring to the original, it was lost. The commttee then rose, reported progress, and asked leave to sit again. Report accepted and leave granted. Mr. Shannon, from the committee on rules of the house, submitted a written report, which, on motion of Mr. Gilbert, was laid on the table, subject to call on Monday morning at 10 o'clock, A. M. The Convention at this time was progressing slowly, and fears are now entertained that the present month will not end its labors. Full proceedings up to Tuesday appeal in our paper of to-day.
