The Senate Biilitary committee today decided to oppose legislation to change the draft ages to Is to IS year after hearing argument pro and con and statements by the heads of the draft administration. General March and Secretary Baker today told the committee that they op- pose as premature and unnecessary t the proposed extension of the drrfft age. General Crowder says that he is not insistent irpon the change but that he thinks the men from this class should be made available for service early next year. Brady Sentinel: Interest in oil de- velopments have picked up some this week with the spudding in by Bowcn & Day. of the Hall-Duttoa well in the new location one-half mile cast f the old location. This well was spudded in Monday and drilling is proceeding. At Crew well No. 1 near Hochellc drilling was resumed Monday morn ing the crew having been unable to cut the water off after nearly thirty days trial of every contrivance that could be had. It is stated that thev Avill proceed with the drilling until another formation is struck .and then case off. I At Mercury drillers of the Burford 33rimm well are' at work in hard lime-. stone which is. necessitating slow work and it is thought that this lime- stone will -continue for several hun- dred feet yet.
