ARBOR DAY ? V ? OBSERVED AT CHARLTON SCHOOL CHARLTON, October 3. Arbor Day was celebrated at Charl ton school on Friday, September 23. The parents were well represented, and Mr. A. J. Whillas (chairman of the school committee) was responsible for the children's sports which were held after the tree planting. Each child received a bag of sweets, fruit and nuts. Although me weather was cold there was a good attendance. The ladies provided afternoon tea, and an erijoyable time was spent. Mr. Whillas provided nuts for the children and Messrs. Dorward and Parker, sweets and pirze-money respectively. Mrs. Burnett also gave a donation for prizes. The sunlight of happiness seldom falls upon a shady reputation.
