Xec tcmcre nec timide FRIDAY, NOYlC JIBEit 2(i UHi A reform ia to bo made in our jury system, and not before it was lime ; it has been the opinion, for years past, that a | radical change was necessary, in fact, a complete alteration of the system. At present tlio jury list is drawn in the pre- | sence of all and sundry, who wish to know the names and address of those drawn to act on the panel, and this, of j course, is chiefly the business of those | interested in the casa pending. Frequent charges are made as to jury "squaring", and the public system of drawing has been tho chief source of tho abuse, as it gave litigants, time and opportunity of interviewing them before tho case camoon for trial. Solicitors, for either plaintiff or defendant, know the danger of such pro ceedings, and would not make the attempt but it chiefly occurs through friends of litigants, who see no harm in trying to do a good turn for their friends. Another necessa...
