Roberts, on a charge of unlawful assault, alleged to be conmmitted on 17th A ~ril in Charman rcad, Mr R. Greene appeared for the complainant and Mr Corr for the defendant, In her c idencc, Mrs Warburton stated on the day in questicn, she was_ walking along the street with Mrs Knox, when MIs Roberts rushed out of the house and hit her (the witness) with a stick several times over the head, and also pulled her hair with considerable force. Dur aing the scuffle which ensued the witness dropped her baby, Mrs oen' son came alorg and took the stick from Mrs Roberts, Mrs A, Ben son's evidence corroborated that of the previous witness.
