Woombye. The summer crop of pines is now easing off. The prices in Sydney hav« been very satisfactory, the fruit being of excellent quality. Cane planted in the Kiel's Mountain district is doing very well, and a credit to the farmers; It could do with a lot more rain. Cotton here has been planted ex perimentally, and so far it is showing much promise. A fair quantity of land is going un der strawberries this year, planting be ing in full swing. Woombye stands to become a busy mortoring centre. Mr. De Lacy Dunn is the latest to be added to the car owning b'st. Many boys In the Scouts have passed their second-class test, and are well advanced in the first class. The troop Is looking forward to the visit of Sir Alfred Plckford at the end of April Sir Alfred is Commissioner for Over sea Scouts, and Sir Robert Baden Powell's right hand man. THE 'NOOSA' IN DIFFICULTIES .Towed Into Leguna Bay. MOTOR BOAT A TOTAL WRECK. On Thursday night (says list Tues day's GympiP Times) the auxiliary motor ketch 'Noosa', whilst on the voyage from Brisbane to the Noosa River, with a small motor boat in tow. encountered heavy weather. The ketch's mast iwas carried away, ami the auxiliary oil engine was soon put out of action. Being unable t omakc Noosa Heads, the 'Noosa' sent up two rockets and lit flares, and theic signals of distress attracted a pass Ing steamer, which came to the res cue and towed the 'Noosa' into Lnguna Bay, where she is at present safely at anchor. The 'Noosa' was towing the motor boat 'Pearl' to Tewantln, for Mr. W. Olds, of Gymple, but during Thurs day night's rough weather, the 'Pearl ' had to be cast adrift and became .1 total wreck.

Prepara tions are well in hand by intending trippers to the many seaside and moun tain resorts. The district is favour ably situated to provide all tbe natural attractions the modest human requires. What with the tramway and road com munications, as time goes on the places of interest become more accessible. As of late years, visitors from all parts of the State find their way all over the district, and the favourable Impres sions gathered sow good fruit either directly or Indirectly.
