Carpenter is not the £10 a week supervisor of the job! For at Tuesday night's meeting: Aid. Carpenter stntrd openly that in HTS opinion a bricklayer laying 85 bricks a day would be do ¡nj satisfactorily cn the job. According to the figures prepared by the Town Clerk the brickies on the job to data are averaging 164 a day. In 126 days thc two employed on the Centre have set 41,000 bricks. Reporting on the matter tile Town Clerk told aldermen that the bricklayers also assisted with scaffolding and concreting etc. Aid. Smith submitted that the slow rate of progress and mounting costs could be attributable only to faulty supervision.
