The weather show.ed rattier inclement during the afternoon, but the night was just as bright as, and warmer than the jprevious', ones. .The usual energetic work of Ihe school com mittee and assistants, was revealed in the pleasing effect;of the|dancing room. Acetylene gas added a special light and shade beauty to the green ery and blossoms. GIANTESS' FUNERAL. [Newspaper Article] — Nathalia Herald and Picola, Narioka, Kotupna and Moira Advertiser — 23 June 1914

GIANTESS' FUNERAL. There was a very large attendance at the funeral on Monday week last of Miss Snell, Gippsland's giantess, who weighed 30 stone. It was the expressed wisn of deceased that ber remain* shou'd be conveyed to their j last resting-place in the spring cart in which she used to travei about the country when on tour. The hearse travelled in front of the funeral, and was filled with wreaths. The spring cart, with the remains, followed. It took six men, including the brother of deceased, to carry the remains to the grave. The coffin was lowered into the grave by eight men, with a double set of four ropes. The sister of deceased, who weighed 28 stone when on tour, was also pre sent at the grave. The large banner which did duty as an advertising sign for the Snell family was buried With the remains. The Rev. A. Banks, of the Church of England, officiated.
