S orrespondence. Sonnets From Savage Did it rain? Ask the weather man. It seems strange, but every Savage visitor shows the smile that won't come off. Ask the weather man. It is understood that there is a movement on foot to organize a com mercial club. A movement of this kind is assuredly a step forward and the organizers deserve and should be rendered all the assistance possible. Senator Clark Sells Mines New York. May 14.-Former Sen ator William A. Clark of Montana, departing today for Europe, con firmed the report that he had sold certain of his copper properties in the Butte district to the Amalga mated Copper company. Mr. Clark said the sale did not mean that he intended retiring. "I received no Anaconda stock for my Butte mines," said Senator Clark. "The transaction is strictly for cash. The deal has nothing to do with the reported impending big copper merger and I am not inte rested in the merger in any way. "The copper situation will work itself out in time. The consumption is good and at the present time there are not more than four months' supply of copper now mined in the world." The Clark copper properties re ferred to consist of the mines and claims respectively in the Original and the East and West Stewart group, directly north of Butte. Sen ator Clark is the owner also of zinc properties in the Butte district, two of which, the Elm Orlu and the...

#)B Coirespondeace. 8 Bloomfield Items Rainy weather at present, which was needed for the growth of young crops and also for breaking prairie. The bulk of the grain has been sown although there is some to put in yet. Emanuel Shrock, who had the mis fortune to break his leg while hauling water for the threshing engine, is able to sit in his chair again at times. We hope he will soon recover. The horse roundup took place in the Thirteen Mile locality on Tuesday, May 17. Jacob D. Chupp has sold his farm and contemplates moving to Radisson, Sawyer county, Wis., in the near fu ture. The reports are that Amos J. Miller has also sold his farm on Thirteen Mile creek. Jacon D. Chupp and Eli D. Chupp, both of this place were called to Rad isson, Wis., on account of the illness of their mother. On their return home they reported her some better.
