By tha arrival of the . steamer Imperial , from Memphis last evening, in default ef all le'torsand dispatches from correspond ents, I gathered from the officers of the t boat, and other reliable persons, the fol lowing latest news from Vieksburg: It appears, that, as previously reported, Genera! Grant bad taken all the enemy's works, with the exception of one redout, in which their entire force was gathered, and which they defended with pikes, the elevation being too steep for the use of fire , arms. This was ordered to be takenjon the 23d, Gen. Alvin P, Hovey'e brigade pressed forward and attempted an escalade by the use ot ladders.
