— KANtiK ( . H :-~ FRIDAY MOHNING,::NOVEMHER 15, 1567. THE EDITOE'S SALUTATION. The people of A'irginia, I trust, are ny friends. Because they are my I'riends, and because I want them to remain so, I shall tell them quite plainly my reasons for taking charge of this paper. About two years ago a severe inflammation of the eyes compelled me to abandon the profession of my choree— that of a journalist—and to resort to some other mode of making a living.
