IV NO. 18 Caddo-Clinton Co. Strike Oil Monday. We are informed through Mr. G. VV. Brown that his company struck oil in their Smithland well last Monday. The How has not as yet been determined, the quality of the oil, but 1 six inch liner was put into the well Wednesday and pumping will begin immediately to tost the well. Mr. Brown stated that while they did not expect a gush- . er, still they were assured of a good flow and a paying well. His driller, also, states that tne chances for a paying well are of the best. This is probably only the beginning of the Caddo-Clin- ton Company's activities, which will end, we believe, in proving that Marion county is possessed of an inexhaustable oil Held.
