Sergeunt King, with u black tracker, followed the tracks of the stolen horses, but they ran out, and it ia now learned that eolnfl of the horses have returned home. Chief Inspector Stuart returned to Brisbane by the Sydney miiil train lubt night. _He etutea that the diffi culties of the pouco have been vastly increased by the exoitement at Gutton. When the news of the murder reaohed the township all the' residents Hocked to the paddock, trampled all over it, and, of course, wiped out all previous tracks. The police are' inquiring in neighbouring townshipB as to pur chases ot revolvers and cartridges. All strangers in Brisbane and Roolchamp ton aro being shadowed.
