FOOTBALL. MOONTA TURKS v. MOONTA. The third meeting of these clubs on Saturday resulted in a very rough game. The weather was calm, and the attendance fair. Sampson started the ball for thie Turks, Harris returning. A rush called the Turk's backs to defend ; Metherell was pat in possession and 1st goal was notched in one minute. The attack wafe kept up, and Sampson, Cock, and Paull had unsuccessful shots. Some good play liy Koaeh. Martin and Luke gave Frick a chance, but he failed. A second behind was added before quarter time. Aftet the change the visitors had the best of the game, and after six behinds Sampson added second goal. The third quarter was very rough, and the Moontae showed up well, Koaeh found the Turk's backs away, and kicked the ball through off thf ground, Nearly ten minutes was lost by a squabble, and Frick added another behind followed by one from Roach. The last quarter was in the Turk's favour, but only behinds came. The game ended ; Turks 2 goals 14 behinds Moo...

MINING. WHEAL ROGEKS S.M. SYNDICATE. Manager reports, under date July 14, have sunk main shaft a further depth of 10 feet, making 29 feet in all. Lode a' little harder, but looking well, being the whole size of shaft at bottom and carrying splendid samples of carbonate of lead and pyrites, five tons of which is now in paddock ; still raising ore. The miners engaged here as well as myself are confi dent that this will ere long rank amongst the best silver properties in the colonies. Samples have been sent to, and may be seen at the office of the secretary, W. T. Linton, City Exchange office, Argent street. MOUNT SHAMKOOK G.M. Co., QUEENS LAND.-The following report, under date July 16, has . come to hand from the manager:-"I have to inform you that the workings have attained a depth of 136 feet from the surface.
