SWAN HILL MINSTRELS. OPEN-AIR ENTERTAINMENT. [Newspaper Article] — Swan Hill Guardian and Lake Boga Advocate — 5 January 1914

SWAN HILL MINSTRELS; OPPNt-AIR ENTERTAINMENT. The Britannia Open-air Theatrc-in Oampbell-street was packed to the doois on Monday night last to wit ness the performance given by the Swan Hill Minstrels in aid of the Swan Hill Jockey Club, and the ciub should be materially benefited in the matter of funds. Of course it must be clearly understood that the expenses in putting on such an entertainment as .was given on this occasion entais no smah amount of outlay, as th'i minstrel troupe, by the way,'is only in its infanoy, and the individual mem bers of the combination cannot be expected to pay for all the things necessary for such a show out of their own -pockBet. The troupe looked very nice indeed in their white uniforms, and the circle was strengthened at this performance by the inclusion of two ladies, also dressed in white, which proved a great acquisition. ...
