EASTERN SUMMARY BOSTON AND NEW-ENGLAND. The Actual Wealth of Boston is very great. And while a few families hold a vast amount of real and personal estate, yetithere is probably a greater number of [the people, in proportion to the entire population, in comfortable circumstances, than 'in any other large city of 'faie world. ENGLISH BISHOPS. ' *. ' ¦ We feel, as the friends of man's salvation, and of the glory of Christ, a great interest in the _appointments by which vacancies in, the English Dioceses are filled. ' A Bishop who has the control of fifty, or a _hundred, or more Rectors- (pastors.) wields an immense power; and as the appointment is for life , the7 importance of its fittingness , cannot be fully estimated. HONOR THE LAW * it! The Proclamation of Gen. Hence the correspondence between the President and Gen. Fremont, given in another column. 1 Synod of Allegheny—The Way to Reach _Newcastle on Friday 'Evening.—Arrangements have been made for a canal boat to leave New Brighton at 12 o'clock M., on Friday of next week, for the purpose of carrying members of Synod and others to Newcastle, so as to reach that place by 6 o'clock' the same evening. Members of Synod from this region will take the accommodation train at the Allegheny Station, at two minutes before 10 o'clock on the morning of that day. And Captain Leslie, of the " Huron House," New Brighton, will have dinner on the table when the train arrives. . This is the easiest and cheapest route by which the Synod can be reached, and it is hoped that as many members of Synod, and others,r as possible, will avail themselves of this facility. Rev. Jit. Marks left for .Washington, as Chaplain of Col.;A. Hays' Regiment, (16th,) on Monday. ! (
