Sufentanil Sritotttt. Bismarck, D. T., June 4,1877 Wadso's Experience. Siiio Wadso, returning home with his arms full of groceries, and his mind full of contentment/at the prospect of a well served dinner, and a quiet, cozy evening ir. the bosom of his family, found his pro gramme, on his arrival at the house, up set, and his prospect of a quiet evening as badly shattered as a looking-glass -which a cannon ball has passed through. In stead of a waiting wife and dinner, a car petless floor, soft-soap puddles, and the furniture stacked in pyramids, greeted him. "Has there been a fire?' he meekly in quired of the servant, as he deposited his parcels in the coal-scuttle, which had been converted into a corner ornament for the mantlepiece. "No, sir,", replied the usually neat girl, who appeared to be in an awful state of rags and soap-suds. •'Visited by an earthquake he calmly asked, lifting? a bar of soap, a loaf of bread and a wet dishcloth off the crown of his best silk hat, and s...

®f)e Ifetnawlt SrUmne. Bismarck, D. T., June 6,1877. BliACK HHJLS. Observations of Guy Salisbury-—A Rich Country—Somotiiiiig About Tendcrfeoi. From a letter from Guy Salisbury, of St. Paul, published in the Pioneer Press of ftlay 16th, we extract the following: crook city' is situated in the foot hills with White wood river flowing through it. This is a finer location for a town than either Dead wood or Gaysville I should think. There are from four hundred to five hundred buildings, and the finest mining camp we have seen, but there was not much doicg on account of very high water. There are some very rich diggings in the vicin ity, and there is r.o doubt ot its, buginess improving very fast as the emigration pours in. There is considerable strife between Crook City and Dcadwpod .in regard to the county seat, and it is hard to tell which will be victorious. The emigrants from three routes, Bismarck, Fort Pierre, and Sidney, have to pass through Crook City, those by Cheyenne passing ...

The pain subsided •liter a few minutes, and the man almost whistled as he began spreading out the carpet His wife came out and suggest ed that it wouldn't do it any good to draw it over the woodpile and over the heap of old ashes, and he chuckled with satisfaction when she stuck a big tack into her foot and limped into the house. CmF ROBINSON, Neb., May 24th, via Cheyenne, May 25.—Gen. Crook, Maj. Randall and Lient. Schuyler arrived here at noon on yesterday, accompan ied by your correspondent. The 4th cavalry, Col. McKenzie commanding, are ordered from.here to the depart ment of tbo Missouri, and will leave on the 26th inst. Their hendqnarters will probably be at Fort Sill, Indian Territory. It is not definitely known what troops will relieve them. One company of the 3d cavalry, Capt. Wea sel's, left Sidney barracks on the 22d to form part of a permanent garrison for the summer, and the probabilities are very strong that the post will be garrisoned by companies of the 3d Cav alry. Gen. S. P. Bradley, lieatenaht colonel of the 9th infantry, now at Omaha barracks, is assigned to the com mand here, bat this does not show what troops may be statione...

Qi)( fiamattft fritmtw. Bumarok, D. T., June 13,1877. BriafSmadateHlaWiflh .The wife of a man across.the way had a dressmaker allot last week. When he got home Tuesday noon he saw a little woman with brown eyes sitting demure ly back of a bank of dress goods, while his wife with a loaf of bread in one hand and a knife in the other, as if she was about to slice the former for dinner, stood close by, her face beaming with ex ultant anticipation. After dinner his wile said to him: •ybhn, Mrs. Sanford wants you to go to Morgan's and tell them to send up a spool of silk twist, blue, just like this sample" (showing him a piece of the silk, about an inch square) ''don't for get to take it with you—and two spools of silk, A, and a yard of black cambric." It Is noticeable that a wife on these oc casions carefully shuns the pronouns "I" and "we." It is always the dress maker who wants the material. "Yon won't forget, will you, John?" added his wife pleadingly. "She'll be pat bade serious...
